Winter Exhibitions at Galerie du Globe

The Galerie du Globe in Argentière is starting off the winter season with a new exhibition of works by photographer Jean-François Hagenmuller and ceramist Véronique Roux.

Jean-François Hagenmuller is a mountain guide and ski instructor who has long been fascinated with capturing the effects of light on the frozen landscape of the high mountains. He takes a close-up look at the ephemeral forms of icicles, snowflakes and frozen formations to capture their unique beauty before they are transformed into something else by the rays of the sun or another snowfall. Hagenmuller will be exhibiting from 19/12/08 to 17/02/09.

Véronique Roux will be exhibiting her collection of ceramic work throughout this winter. She aims to convey a sense of transparency and luminosity in her work, using colour and texture to create a magical collection. She says that she uses the concept of a ‘wakeful daydream' as a starting point for her inspiration.

Galerie du Globe is open from 15h00-19h30 Tuesday to Friday and 11h00-19h30 at weekends. You are welcome to drop by for a browse, to enjoy a coffee or to make use of the free Wi-Fi. The gallery can also be hired out for private functions.
