Ultra Trail update & CCC results are in!
A new day has dawned and the winners of the CCC have already had a good night's sleep. After setting off from Courmayeur at 10am yesterday morning, the lead runners arrived back in Chamonix yesterday evening having completed the 98km route in just over 11.5 hours. The results are as follows:

2nd: Nikolaos Kalofyris (GRE): 12h15m35s
3rd: Ludovic Pommeret (FRA): 12h34m20s

3rd: Giuliana Arrigoni (ITA): 17h11m35s (96th)*
(*overall position in the field)
We'd also like to pass on huge congratulations go to our friend Richard Cameron-Beaumont who finished the course in an astounding 16h59m17s coming 56th in his category and 86th overall in his very first CCC. Richard you are a machine!!!
In the Ultra Trail, last year's winner Killian Jornet is currently in the lead and it appears to be a good lead. He passed the 122km (Champ) at 9.36am, nearly a full hour ahead of Sebastien Chaigneau and Julien Chorier, 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the women's race – go the Brits – Elisabeth Hawker is managing to hold off American, Kristin Moehl, but only just as she's hot on her heels. Karine Herry is currently in 3rd place, about 1 hour behind the leaders.
Shocker of the race so far, two Ultra Trail legends Dawa Sherpa and Marco Olmo both pulled out of the race in Les Comtamines after just 3-3.5 hours.
We'll bring you more news on the winners as they arrive Chamonix later this afternoon but in the mean time you can follow their progress live on the UTMB website.
