New TV show filmed in Val d'Isere to air this weekend
As part of BBC 2s 'Switch' strand (which back in our day was known as 'yoof' TV!), there is a brand new TV series being launched this weekend that was filmed in Val d'Isere.
The show, called 'The Season' has been described as a constructed reality show. For the uninitiated, that means it's scripted and uses actors, but is filmed as though it is 'reality' TV, with the aim of showing the highs, the lows, the trials and tribulations of 'doing a season' in Val d'Isere.
Episode one airs this Saturday 31st October on BBC2, starting at 12.25pm UK time, when we get to meet the rag-taggle bunch of 'typical seasonnaires' such as Aby the gossip queen, Holly and her wannabe pro-snowboarder boyfriend Sam, as well as Tommy and Emily who arrived in resort as a couple, but then promptly split up.
The show spans 10 weeks on BBC2 and focusses on 10 different characters. We found a little 'Who's who in The Season' website and just reading about these stereotypical characters made us laugh, so the show could quite fun to watch to get an interesting insight to life in a ski resort!
