By Robin Deering, Updated

Just after midday the Montenvers train heading towards the Mer de Glace came off it's rails. The incident occurred at low speed just after departure form the Montenvers train station, near les Planards, so fortunately no-one was injured .

The train had simply slipped off the track which meant that passengers easily disembarked and were invited to jump on board the next train for the Mer de Glace.
By 15:00 the train was back on track and circulating as normal.
