Friends and relatives of Jean-Noel Marty will gather this afternoon at the Eglise Saint Michel to pay their last respects. The Chamonix mountain guide was killed last Wednesday 7th April in an avalanche in the Ayer region of Switzerland.

Jean-Noel was not only a mountain guide, but also a teacher at the Lycée Roger Frison Roche. He had also initiated a project to help children in Nepal; donations to the project will be collected at the church to honour and continue his work.

The ceremony will take place at 3pm this afternoon.
