DH mountain bike comp and bike test day in Vallorcine
Following the success of last year's event, Chamonix bike shops Zero G and Legend Chx are again joining forces with a bike test as part of the Vallorcine DH VTT competition in the village this Sunday, the 5th July.
The competition, which is open to all riders, will take place on the pretty gnarly Foret Verte DH piste and anyone mad enough...sorry, interested in having a go needs to be at the bottom of the Vallorcine telecabine at 08:30 to sign up.
The comp will start at 10:00 with riders setting off at two minute intervals from the top of the Foret Verte downhill run. The second leg will take place from 12:30.
Of course, all that downhillage is hungry work, so there'll be a BBQ and refreshments laid on too. And if all that bike testing and throwing yourself down the 5km long piste gets too much, there's also a 'vide grenier' (car boot sale) taking place in the car park next to the telecabine so you can have a browse and maybe pick up some bargains!
The Vallorcine expert DH piste is accessible from Le Tour and directly from the Vallorcine telecabine. The telecabine is now open every day between 09:00 and 17:00 until the 11th July and then between 08:15-17:30 from the 12th July to the 31 August.
