Chamonix's 'Missing man' speaks out!

Since reporting the case of the missing mountaineer on the Valley Blanche whose abandoned tent sparked a search by the PGHM, Mark Seal has become a somewhat reluctant celebrity back in the UK as the story has been picked up by several national newspapers.

According to the Daily Mirror the missing man himself, Mark Seal, who lives in Dove,r only found out about the PGHM search for him when he met his friends down the pub who told him his missing tent had sparked a full-scale search in Chamonix.

In the article Mark claims he told French police that he'd left his gear up the mountain, as he realised it could cause a panic. Meanwhile, the PGHM is inisisting no call was received!

The Daily Mirror quotes the intrepid climber as saying : "It wasn't good seeing myself in the Mirror looking like a mug!".

Stil, main thing is he's safe and sound!
