As in previous years, there is a basic choice between the Chamonix Pass and the Mont Blanc Unlimited Pass for anyone wanting to ski in the Valley. The Chamonix Pass covers Brevent, Flegere, Le Tour and Grands Montets, save for the 'top' lift at Grands Montets. The Chamonix Pass also doesn't allow access to the two stage Aiguille du Midi cable cars or the Montenvers Railway.
The Mont Blanc Unlimited Pass (for all passes, from one day to annual) includes all the lifts in the valley ski areas of Brevent, Flegere, Le Tour and Grands Montets, as well as Montenvers and the Aiguille du Midi. As previously reported, Les Houches is NOT included this year and the most you can get with your MBU pass is to use the Prarion bubble car lift to effectively go up and ski straight back down. You will also be able to use the Tramway Mont Blanc.
The intention this year is that unlimited skiing in Verbier WILL also be included, but note that this is for Verbier only and NOT the full 4 Vallees area. However, a minimal CHF 10 upgrade will entitle you to the full 4 Valleys pass. At the time of writing this hadn't be set in stone. Unlimited Courmayeur is also once again included in the lift pass and there are plans to lay on free day return ski buses from Chamonix and back. Once again, details are still to be finalised at the moment as to the timetable, frequency and if you need to book in advance.
There are also plans in the pipeline to be able to offer discounts to the Fondation Gianadda museum in Martigny (Switzerland), as well as the Thermal Baths at Pre St Didier in Italy.
For those buying MBU season or annual passes, you will receive the booklet offering three days of skiing in other Haute Savoie resorts such as Les Contamines, Flaine etc.
We'll keep an eye on developments and let you know when these deals and offers have been made concrete.
