A British skier has died on a ski tour in the Aiguilles Rouges, Chamonix.

Skier dies in a 30 metre fall in Chamonix backcountry

The British-man was ski-touring on the Crochues-Berard traverse, one of Chamonix's classic ski-tours, when he slipped and fell down a steep ridge of 30 metres. Fellow ski-tourer's gave the alert to the PGHM, however on their arrival the rescue services could only confirm the death of the man.

The 56 year old British-man was a local in Les Houches - our thoughts go out to friends and family of the victim.
