Bad Weather Delays Gouter Refuge Inspection & Opening

Heavy snow and strong winds have kept site saftey commission from visiting the new refuge and giving the long-awaited site approval.

The official opening was due to be for the 1st of June 2013, but with this additional interruption the opening will be postponed by at least two weeks - the inspection team hope to get on site for the 11th of June.
Until then all those that have booked to stay at the Gouter refuge will be accomodated in the old Gouter refuge.

President of the Chamonix guide company, David Ravanel, states as the tramway du Mont-Blanc does not open until the 15th of June this should not impact a great deal of reservations.
