Albert Premier Hut to Open 1st July
The summer refuge has been having a bit of a make over
The Albert 1er hut has been undergoing some renovations during the course of the winter and up to now, which has taken some time due to the constraints of its location & the winter weather.
The structure of the summer refuge building will remain in tact but the inside is being totally changed - They've added a new floor to create more spacious dormitories; previously there were dorms for 24 people to share, but with the new building works, there will now be a number of small rooms for 4-12 people.
The restaurant will also be bigger and more modern, the toilets have also been revamped and the whole interior will be generally more spacious.
The capacity will be the same as before (~140), but more comfortable due to the extra floor and extra space.
The winter refuge will also be undergoing some changes once the workmen have finished the summer refuge. There will still be an amount of debris from the works when it opens for summer, and this will be taken down the mountain progressively over the course of the summer.
The Albert Premier hut will be open from 1st July to the end of September 2014.
