A popular place with locals and holidaymakers alike, partly because of its friendly French atmosphere and partly due to the great, well-priced, lunch & dinner menu.
Furnished in slightly shabby old wood with photos and news clippings of local mountaineers on the walls, this is a Chamonix institution where you will find ski instructors, mountain guides, locals, seasonal workers and a smattering of tourists all enjoying a sociable drink or two.
Their menu is tasty and good value and features plenty of local dishes such as tartiflette and croute as well as steaks, pastas and enormous salads.
Open daily all year round. Monday to Saturday from 07:00 to 02:00, Sunday from 08:00 to 02:00. Food served from midday.
- "The best place in Chamonix for after ski if it's too chilly for outside! Always a good crowd and the staff is super friendly." - Trip Advisor
- "From the outside it appears as this is just a bar - and in fact there were many guests enjoying drinks in the part facing the street. At the back there is a delightful restaurant area with a very lovely and efficient lady taking care of the service. Wonderful, simple food and low prices wines in a lovely setting with good lighting. We enjoyed our dinner very much and can recommend this place." - Trip Advisor
- "Been here loads of times, its where the locals hang out - which is what attracted us to it originally. Lovely steak, great service, good value. Would recommend." - Trip Advisor
