The high mountain office have put out a warning this morning that the avalanche risk in the valley is especially high at the moment.

They have been observing the snowpack and significant fractures and movements have been seen.

A contingency plan for avalanches has been put in place this morning, in order to secure ski areas as well as roads over the next few days, especially at the Col des Montets, Vallorcine and the Mont Blanc tunnel.

Extreme caution is advised.
