What to buy the ski fan who has pretty much everything this Christmas

featured in News & Reviews Author Caroline Face, Updated

On a recent visit to see the parentals in the UK we popped into Tescos (other large supermarkets are available) and fell slap bang into the 'Buy now for Christmas' trap as we left laden down with advent calendars, mince pies and crackers...we're so weak. *sigh*

Yes, if you're in the UK Christmas is already well underway on the High Street. So, it may only be October, but there's nothing like being organised and when it comes to present buying for 'people who already have everything', if they like skiing or mountain resorts we've spotted something that might just work - vintage ski posters!

Living in a very small alpine flat we haven't got much space for knick-knacks, but we do have wall space to hang these rather fetching prints of rosy-cheeked laydees in skirts and foppy-haired young chaps skiing on the slopes at various ski resorts in the Alps.

You know the ones we mean - those classically drawn posters advertising the likes of Val d'Isere, Chamonix and Morzine way back before GoreTex existed. We've just found a company who sells such posters in the UK, making ideal Christmas presents for ski fans and much less hassle than trying not crease that lovely poster you bought in resort as you get it x-rayed at the airport and then try and shove it in the overhead lockers.

The posters start at just £13.49 and post and packaging is £3.95. If you buy two posters there's a 10% discount and 15% off if you order three at once. There's no direct online ordering for the time being, but you can send an email or call to place your order. The full collection can be seen here on the ski-links website. Happy shopping!
