The 20th Boss des Bosses takes place in Chamonix on the 18th March

News has just reached us of the plans for this years' Boss des Bosses mogul riding comp at Grands Montets on the 18th March 2009.

In it's 20th year, the comp continues to draw a strong crowd, with teams from across the Alps bringing their enthusiastic supporters with them for the hard-fought battle to prove just which resort is the best of the best when it comes to steaming down those bumps.

If your memory from last year's event is a little...um, fuzzy shall we say, allow us to remind you of the results:

1st place : Zermatt
2nd place : Chamonix
3rd place : Val d'Isere
4th place : Meribel
5th place : Verbier
6th place : Courchevel

It's all to to play for again this year with the competition kicking off at around 11:00 on the 18th March at Grands Montets. As always, the event is sponsored by a number of local businesses such as Dynamic Lives, Hip Chalets, Compagnie du Mont Blanc, Natives.co.uk and Le Vert Hotel, who will be providing DJs, music, bars and a mountain BBQ to keep competitors and supporters entertained, watered and fed throughout the day.

This year the whole event has been incorporated into the Black Crowes "Black Weekend" mountain and music festival, and they will have a test centre set up on the day for you to try some of the coolest skis there are out there at the moment.

Apres-ski starts off from 16:30 at the Marmottons bar at the bottom of Grands Montets with live music too. Buses will be laid on between 17:30 and 18:00 to take everyone back to La Terrasse in Chamonix for the after-comp party with live music, DJs and the prize giving.

The bars in rue des Moulins will also be joining in the fun, hosting special music nights and parties too. We reckon there may just be a few people with sore heads the next morning...!
