** Update ** Early discount on season lift passes
Following on from our article at the end of last month about discounted season lift passes, there has been a further development today that will be of interest to those of you that own property in the valley.
Previously the Compagnie du Mont Blanc was offering a 50% discount to holders of the Gen de Pays card (for people who declare their income tax in France) and 30% to everyone else that purchased their pass before November 20th. However, as of today, the 50% discount has now been extended to “residents secondaires” (I.E. anyone with a property here) in possession of a Carte Chamonix Vallée Résident and the closing date of these offers has now been extended to November 27th.
In order to get this card you need to complete an application form and attach:
- a copy of your last taxe fonciere bill
- (due for payment each October)
- a recent passport photo (note your name on the back)
- €2
- And if also applying for a card for your spouse and/or children;
- a copy of the birth certificate of each additional person listed on the application form
The Carte Resident not only entitles you to half price lift passes (before November 27th only), but also:
- Free use of the valley bus and train system all year (between Servoz and Vallorcine)
- Reduced entrance to the sport centre, golf course, Chamonix museums and covered parking
- Reductions at the Arbe Aventure and climbing wall in Les Houches
- And a number of other discounts and reductions throughout the valley.
Applications can be made in person at the Mairie or by post to the following address:
