Night photography walks

This summer the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix are organising night time photography walks for nature lovers.

Getting away from the street lights of the town, the group will set off on short walks with the aim of photographing the night sky and hopefully spotting some local wildlife; many species are more active at dusk and less likely to be hidden away than during the daytime.

The walks will set off just before dark and aim to return sometime between midnight and 1am. A modern SLR camera with manual settings is recommended, as are warm clothes and a headtorch. Hiking poles and a camera tripod are also a good idea.

The walks are also open to those who don't want to take part in the photography – the Compagnie des Guides promises that the experience of discovering the woods at night will be well worth the effort, and may even inspire you to bring a camera along next time!

Times and dates have not yet been confirmed, please contact the Compagnie des Guides if you are interested on +33 (0) 450 53 00 88 or via the email/website links below.
