Young British freestyle skier James 'Woodsy' Woods was looking set to win the Freestyle World Cup Finals yesterday in New Zealand, with a score of 92, but was sadly beaten to the Gold by an impressive run from Nicolas Goepper whose second run clocked him the winning score of 94.

21 year old James Woods (who is the current world champion) followed Jenny Jones' silver in the Snowboard Slopestyle earlier in the week, setting an impressive start to the season for the British team.

16 year old team mate Anna Vincenti made it into the final 8 of the womens Ski Slopestyle, but didn't complete due to an injury she sustained in practise. And 16 year old Tyler Harding finished the Ski Slopestyle in 26th place.

Meanwhile another young snowboarder, Japanese Ayumu Hirano who is just 14 years old, became the youngest ever to win an FIS World Cup event in the halfpipe, and it was his first entry into the World Cup...!

All eyes will be on these guys and girls in the coming season and the winter Olympics.
