Emeralds, Rubies & Sapphires found at the Glacier des Bossons

A young mountaineer has literally discovered hidden treasure at the Glacier des Bossons, when he stumbled across a metal box containing rubies, emerlands and sapphires that haven't seen the light of day for over 50 years.

He very honestly handed the jewels over to the local police, as he'd noticed some of the sachets that the jewels were found in were stamped 'Made in India' and he thought that they might make their way back to their righful owners via the authorities.

In the last few years a number of personal possessions and a diplomatic bag have been discovered as the glacier slowly sheds some of the remaining artefacts from the two Air India planes crashes in 1950 and 1966.

If no-one claims them, the jewels could become the property of the mountaineer, who would suddenly be around €250,000 richer - lucky man!
