Eco-friendly Ski Wear
Patagonia has been leading the way in the manufacture of environmentally friendly clothing for over a decade. In 1993, the outdoor wear specialists, adopted fleece made from recycled plastic bottles into its clothing product line. Known as PCR® clothing, it created a positive step towards a more sustainable system. Today, the company uses the fabric in about 31 products, and has saved hundreds of millions of plastic bottles from land fill sites.
Since 2005 the environmentally conscious company have been making new clothes from old. The Common Threads Garment Recycling Program, enables customers to return their worn out Capilene® Performance Baselayers for recycling. Now Patagonia fleece, Polartec® fleece from other manufacturers and Patagonia organic cotton T-shirts have also been added to the list of recyclables.
