UPDATE: A huge rockfall has further delayed works on the Val d'Arly road as some 10 000 m3 have fallen on the already closed road. (23/01/14)

Following a rock slide that happened on the road through the valley d'Arly between Ugine crossroads and the access to Crest-Voland will be closed for a number of months whilst teams will work to remove 4 000 m³ of rock that is posing a risk of falling.

The road is frequently used for those travelling between the Tarentaise valley and the Chamonix valley.

A detour is in place for small vehicles via Hery-sur-Ugine. The General Council of Haute Savoie advise you exercise extreme caution when using this detour. Larger vehicles over 19 tonnes need to take the A43 via Chambery & Annecy.
