Quirkily decorated, as the name suggests, this restaurant has different rooms for different moods. Grab a quick coffee and a snack at the breakfast bar, enjoy a casual meal in the retro formica kitchen area, or sit and take your time over dinner at one of the large tables in the dining room. They also have a large sunny terrace where they serve up a nice BBQ in the summer and a kids play area.

A perfect place to enjoy a quiet brunch, have lunch or a drink, this restaurant has live music almost every evening in winter, and very often during the summer season. All their food is made with local produce and, wherever possible, organic.

Located right under the Bellevue lift, their large terrace is the perfect place for a snack and a drink after skiing. It's also a great place to bring the kids, with space to run around outside and a playground to keep the little ones entertained.

They have classic cheeseburgers on the menu as well as the Old blue burger, which comes with blue cheese and a veggie burger with feta, pea, bean and coriander. They serve up their burgers in bio buns too. 

Open every day from 11:00 to 01:00 with food served from 12:00 to 15:00 and 18:00 to 22:00 daily. Offering a range of internationally inspired dishes, they also have one of the best veggie and vegan menus in the valley. During the winter season, they open at 09:00 for breakfast.

2. Le Basilic Restaurant

Just across the road from the Bellevue lift in Les Houches, this is a perfect spot to recharge your batteries after a day on the mountain, or pop in for lunch.

This small restaurant offers home-made Savoyard cuisine. Specialities include tartiflette, croute, fondue or duck. They also offer good value set menus, including one especially designed for vegetarians.

Open every day from 11:00 to 23:00 in the summer and winter seasons.

3. La Ferme des Agapes

This restaurant is located right in front of the Bellevue cable car in Les Houches.

They offer all the typical Savoyard fare: fondue, tartiflette, raclette, and pierrade, as well as pasta, meat and fish dishes and salads. Their cosy, rustic interior provides a welcoming ambience, and there is also a small covered terrace.

Open only during the summer and winter seasons, every day from 12:00 to 13:30 and from 18:30 to 21:00.

Les Vieilles Luges Restaurant, Les Houches

4. Les Vieilles Luges Restaurant

An authentic Alpine farmhouse with a charming ambience and great food. Located right in the middle of Les Houches ski resort, this chalet serves delicious home-cooked local produce.

This old mountain chalet on the slopes of Les Houches serves delicious lamb shank, fondue and home-made genepi. The cosy interior, with warm wood and beautiful rustic decoration, makes for a unique and romantic mountain dining experience.

Only accessible on foot or skis, in the winter it is open for lunch and by reservation only in the evenings. In summer, open only by reservation for groups over 15 people, or some weekends for lunch (booking needed).

A great option for a special evening out, it can be reserved for parties from 15 to 63 people by prior arrangement.

Standard opening hours are Thursday to Sunday 11:30 to 16:30.

Les Hors Pistes Restaurant, Les Houches interior

5. Le Hors Pistes Restaurant

Brilliantly located in the heart of the Les Houches Prarion ski area.

Despite its name, you won't need a shovel and a transceiver to safely make it to the door of this restaurant to enjoy lunch or a hot chocolate on its sunny terrace. It couldn't be more convenient to find; right at the top of the Maison Neuve chairlift and a few steps from the the famous "Kandahar" downhill course and chairlift of the same name.

Open for breakfast and lunch and serving drinks and snacks all day, this popular mountain stop off serves generous plates of hearty food to refuel tired ski legs. Pastas, steak, burgers and tartiflette are all on the menu, but be warned, this place is popular so don't forget to book your table for lunch to avoid a long wait.

If you want a dinner venue with a difference then evening meals are possible for groups of 20+ people. Booking 24h in advance is essential.
